Grange Goings On for April

Great Grange Crew, joining in the Great American Clean-up, at Old Town Recreation Center, April 2, 2022. The park is looking great.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Members and friends gather to help the community. Missing from the photo, but present for work were Christopher and Virginia Bannigan, and Kara Larrabee.

And a rare moth sighting at the Old Town Rec. picnic pavilion.

April brings summer seed starts for our new Grange Garden.

These are early experiments in planting our first Grange Garden on the grounds of the Old Richmond Grange Hall.

We put in seeds for onion, kale, eggplant, radishes, watermelon, gourds, sunflowers, cucumbers, basil, and several varieties of tomato, in paper cups, each carefully labeled. We’ll see what comes up, and what we can keep alive through the summer.

Here we are measuring out the garden plot next to the Grange Hall driveway, and putting down stakes. Next, laying out the raised beds.

Check back to see how our garden grows!
