Dictionary donations for elementary school students.
Each year, the Old Richmond Grange has provided members of the third grade class at the Old Richmond Elementary School with their very own dictionaries. O.R. Granger, Virginia Bannigan, a third grade teacher there, is a big advocate of students having actual dictionaries, as opposed to virtual ones, as the printed word can aid in comprehension and memory retention.
Especially during the pandemic, as young students were often working from home, having an actual book to hold, work with, and take notes in, can be a real help.
